Ali is a freelance producer, programmer, researcher and arts/non-profit consultant. She has worked on an international level in professional theatre and multi-artform programmes in Ireland and Northern Ireland for over 20 years.
A lead advocate and campaigner for the arts in Northern Ireland, she is an exceptional fundraiser and strategic leader, supporting artists, advising on policy, and developing effective planning and management approaches. She has particular expertise in social enterprise.
She has been teaching, training and mentoring young and experienced professionals since 2009, and currently lectures on the MA in Arts Management and Cultural Policy at Queen’s University Belfast, where she is also undertaking PhD research. In September 2015, Ali was made an honorary Industry Fellow at the Institute for Collaborative Research in the Humanities at Queen’s University Belfast.
